Shipping detailsThis Red & Gold Mahasthamaprapta Thangka features a serene, light-toned central figure seated on an elaborate lotus throne, surrounded by a radiant golden halo and richly detailed floral ornaments. The deep red background, warm gold accents, and delicate decorative patterns create a striking composition that reflects the visual richness of traditional Himalayan Buddhist art.
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, known in Chinese Buddhism as Dashizhi Pusa, is traditionally associated with the wisdom and strength that guide beings toward awakening. Together with Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin), Mahasthamaprapta is one of the two principal attendants of Amitabha Buddha in Pure Land Buddhist traditions. His representation in Buddhist art carries themes of wisdom, mindful practice, and spiritual aspiration.
Hand-painted in Nepal using mineral pigments and gold powder, this Thangka showcases intricate ornamental linework, a finely decorated halo, layered lotus motifs, and flowing floral patterns. The combination of red, gold, and pale tones gives the artwork a distinctive appearance, while the detailed upper composition adds depth and visual interest.
With its elaborate decorative style and traditional Buddhist iconography, this Mahasthamaprapta Thangka is suitable for a meditation room, shrine space, sacred interior, or private collection of Himalayan Buddhist art.
