About this piece

A large hand-painted Vajrasattva Thangka, created with mineral pigments and fine gold detailing in the traditional Himalayan Buddhist painting style.

At the center of the composition is Vajrasattva, depicted in a luminous white form seated upon an elaborate lotus throne. Surrounded by additional Buddhist figures, blooming lotuses, mountains, clouds, and richly layered sacred imagery, the painting presents a more expansive and complex composition than a single-deity portrait.

The contrast of white, green, deep blue, turquoise, gold, and vibrant floral colors gives the work exceptional visual depth. Fine gold linework appears throughout the robes, jewelry, halos, lotus petals, and landscape, revealing the patience and precision of traditional Thangka craftsmanship.

Hand-painted in Nepal, this large-format contemporary Thangka is well suited to a meditation space, sacred interior, study, or private collection of Himalayan Buddhist art.
